Dear Golden Spike Elementary Parents and Guardians,
As we move into the season of unpredictable and sometimes severe weather, we kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping all designated bus pick-up and drop-off zones clear at Golden Spike Elementary.
For the safety of our students and to ensure buses can arrive and depart on time, parents and guardians should not pull into or park in bus-only areas — especially during inclement weather. While we understand the desire to get as close as possible during rain, snow, or cold temperatures, these zones must remain accessible for our buses at all times.
Blocking or using bus lanes creates safety hazards and delays for many students and families. We appreciate your help in keeping traffic flowing smoothly and safely for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to let you know that our school buses have been briefly delayed due to the weather.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, but we do expect arrival times to be slightly later than usual.

Our art teacher, Mrs. Anderson, does such a fantastic job! She connects art to what students are learning in class and teaches many different art forms. We are grateful for the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts grant that allows our students this amazing opportunity with a fabulous art teacher! This is just some of the art around Golden Spike.

After spending time reading and learning about the Boston Tea Party as part of our Road to Revolution unit, fifth grade students were challenged to create a boat out of popsicle sticks, a strip of tape and glue sticks. They were trying to get their tea bag to stay dry. We tested all the boats, and had a clear winner! The students who used the glue as a barrier across the bottom of their boat, reinforcing with the strip of tape, and made several layers to keep their tea bag safe.
